Sure, it makes you shoot fast at godly speeds. The deal here though is that even though it is "cheating", it isn't something you can get banned for. Personally, I only use my rapid fire for offline play against friends for laughs. For the parents: It might make your kid smile at first, but after they try it on Xbox live, other players will start dropping the F-bomb and n-word against your child. BTW, don't listen to the people who call this cheating and will get you banned. It is undetectable, but people will get mad at you and file complaints against you for stupid reasons, enough of which WILL get you banned. Edit: COD5 has a patch that sets a limit on rate of fire.

Whoever said that video gaming is a childish pastime clearly hasn't seen the prices of videogames these days. For $50 and above per product, video gaming is no longer a right. It's a luxury that only adults - given their purchasing power - can actually enjoy.

Indeed, with the rising cost of videogame software, the hobby has become an expensive investment. Review websites are enjoying wide readerships because people want to know - for certain - whether or not a video game is worth the money they'll spend on the same.

Sadly, reviews aren't always as accurate as one would expect them to be. Beta testing is doubly important for videogames with online components (which account for 95% of the videogame software programs released these days), as this stage not only challenges the engine itself but also the infrastructure and stability of the videogame's would-be server.

Unlike the usual free PC game demos, however, videogames being beta tested allow users to download a game client that more or less comprises the entire game.

There are two types of beta testing: open and closed. Open beta testing allows everyone who has the means to download the game client to do so. Closed beta testing only allows a selected number of people - usually invited - to download and test the game client.

I got this game for my kids and me because I thought it would be as fun as Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. I didn't notice that the game was not made by the same people and didn't read reviews beforehand. Hopefully, this will not happen to another family or kid spending Christmas, birthday, or hard-earned cash on this game. The PC version is buggy beyond belief. It cannot support two controllers (despite being a two-person game) and seems to want a kid to control figures using keyboard keys (how annoying is that). I did not know this and started the game with both controllers plugged in like we do with Lego Star Wars II and the game decided to have the movement controlled by the pad on one controller and the actions controlled by the buttons on the other controller. HUH? I got online to look for a patch and finally found one that messed things up even worse. It installed mouse support, which is completely useless! The game also crashes, a lot. My kids have made it to the end of the first mission in Episode 1 but then the game crashes and they have to start all over, that is, when they can make a controller behave. I found several posts to a forum or two complaining that the game is very troublesome in Vista. Great, have the company do a patch or a redistribution of the game. Couple all this with the understandable but very annoying nearly universal policy of not accepting a game for return if it has been opened (like I'd make a copy of this game anyway!), and I am not a happy camper with Eidos, Giant Interactive, LucasArts (who, I know only lent their name for licensing, but pay attention to the end result product guys), and Amazon at this moment.

With so many game consoles out there, sometimes theres no way of telling which games people are actually using or buying. My 11 year old son was a bit diappointed to receive this game; however, once he tried it he became hooked! We now have the whole family playing together.

When the October 4th 2005 X 05 events were going on in Amsterdam all in the gaming industry realized that the Microsoft will announce for the release of its Xbox 360 games in North America and Europe.
But to everyones surprise Microsoft didnt did so and that led to the confusion in the minds of many people.

However, the corporate vice president of Xbox marketing and publishing, Peter Moore told the masses that there are two hundred Xbox 360 games in development phase that are one of the best games ever designed. He also stated that they would organize the best launch lineup of Xbox 360 that has not been done ever in this industry. Peter Moore refused to declare the list of all the games that would be available for sale in November 22 during the launch of the Xbox 360. This launch is to be held in the United States.

As if this was not enough, one more press release by Microsoft titled Xbox 360 launch line-up announced has added to more confusion. Three first party games are listed in the press release under the heading of an impressive Christmas holiday portfolio. The games that are listed are Kameio Elements of Power, Perfect Dark Zero and Project Gotham Racing 3. The next catalogue of games under heading of the other great games announced or shown at X05 consists of games like Too Human, Crackdown, FIFA 06, Saints Row and many more. In the third category the games were included under the heading of the franchise titles that will make their debut on Xbox 360 that consists of games like Tom Clancys Splinter Cell 4, Superman Returns: The Videogame, Call of Duty 2 and many more such games.

The main confusion is that most of these games have 2006 release dates. Moreover some of the games that are announced would be impossible to be added into the Xbox 360 launch lineup that is opposite to the title indicated in press release.

To add to the confusion, when director of platform marketing for the Xbox 360, David Reid was asked about the available games during the launch then he stated that only fifteen to twenty Xbox 360 titles will be launched in November and the next halfdozen would be available next year. According to David Reid, only eight games would be available in November, namely, Need for Speed Most Wanted, FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup, Project Gotham Racing 3, Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo, Madden NFL 06, NBA Live 06 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06. Remaining seven games that would be available in November will be announced by him in the next few weeks. He stated that those games are in the final stages of certification referring to the quality assurance process all games have to go through before they are available in the market. He also confirmed that if any game is unable to pass the certification then that game may not be available for sale in November Xbox 360 launch.

The main problem is that the decision to rush games is for the reason that the company wants to take the advantage of the holiday sales season. The other reason is that the gamer in todays world can analyze whether the game was rushed that may result in the destruction of the reputation of the game. Now there are only tow conditions, either the Xbox 360 games would be a great success or a big failure. All this is due to the excessive pre release publicity of Xbox 360.

Although the three games that Microsoft assures would be available on the release dates but when it comes to the remaining twelve titles all confusion prevails. It is thought that even if the Xbox 360 is spared the proposed PS3 would be under the same trap of questions.

The best way to know about the release of Xbox 360 is to wait and watch. Here we are in a state of confusion whereas on the other hand the Microsoft is fueling the market for the sale of its Xbox 360 games.

Customer Review: Entertaining, but a weak game
The Simpsons game is a rather basic beat-em-up platformer dressed up with an entertaining story. I hate to give away the entire review, but the game itself- if not for the Simpsons writing and style- is a bore. The characters are diverse, and playing two character teams makes for some interesting puzzles but I found the level design to be a little flat and confusing, you find yourself wandering over the same ground. Having the "target time" displayed after a level makes you feel like an idiot when you were roaming a level for almost an hour and you "should have" finished it in 12 minutes. That speaks to poor level design, not a genuine in-game challenge. The controls are tight, though the projectile targeting sometimes didn't seem to want to lock on to the intended enemy if you had multiple targets. Jumping in itself is a simple task, but it is complicated by a camera system that is a little jumpy and rather touchy. You can kind of control what you see and where, but you can't easily swing the camera around your character, nor is there a particularly useable "look" function (think Mario 64). The flatness of the color palette will lead you jump and miss many many times when you think you're on target. However, problems aside you feel compelled to play through because the writing and voice acting is -naturally- very entertaining. I wouldn't rank it up there with the great Simpsons episodes, but I found myself chuckling at the gags in the cut scenes as well as dialogue heard in-game. However, there is one thing at the heart of the Simpsons game that really annoyed me. They keep making jokes about how bad most videogames are, that they're too violent, too predictable, that they rely on bottomless pits and spiked walls and flame traps and lava and all that(there are even "cliches" you can collect). The sad thing is that this game is riddled with them, and not in a mocking way, but in a way that seems to say, "we, as game designers, didn't try very hard." Making fun of something and then going right ahead and doing is a good way to parody something, but when the person has to experience that poor game design first hand, it just underscores what a lousy game you have created around a very funny premise. It is worth a rental to experience the humor of the game, but I never want to actually sit down and play this game again.
Customer Review: exactly what you think, 2 player is more fun
this game definitely had a lot of creative involvement from the people who produce the show. the writing, animation, and game play is right on par with what you'd expect from the show. it isn't really that challenging, but it's almost more like a playable episode with typical video game objectives mixed up with simpsons humor. play this game with a friend in 2 player mode. it's a split screen, much more fun than 1 player.

It was a few weeks ago when a lone nutcase bought a few guns and killed 32 people in one of the worst massacres in U.S. history at Virginia Tech. So far, there have only been a few mumblings here and there that the media is to blame in all of this, most predominately by Dr. Phil. He accuses the videogame industry of being somehow complicit in this one crazed gunman's actions, which is obviously unfounded and ridiculous. But there are always congressmen in office who are otherwise ineffectual in getting anything done to stop guns from getting in the hands of mental patients, who go on tirades against the entertainment community when something like this happens.

Thankfully, most people are waking up and seeing that mental psychosis is responsible for these crazy people's actions, not the latest Rob Zombie horrorfest. The movie studios for the most part capitulated to congress' need for a better system of screening out hard "R" rated movies that are unsuitable to kids under 18 years old. They now force i.d.'s to be shown at all ticket windows to allow teenagers to buy tickets to r-rated movies. Now that another massacre has occurred, they might be encouraged to force even stricter guidelines on r-rated movies.

The Federal Trade Commission regulates video game ratings, and is the watchdog for the movie industry, making sure that r-rated flix are not seen or bought on dvd by kids under 18 years old. The FTC chairman, Deborah Platt Majores states "The latest FTC report shows improvement, but also that the entertainment industry has more work to do." The FTC conducted a research group whereby they sent a variety of children into a retail store to buy r-rated dvds. Eighty-one percent of kids 16 and younger were able to buy R-rated movies in 2003, and that number dropped just 10 percentage points to 71 percent in 2006.

Based on these statistics, and in light of the shootings at Virginia Tech, there is reason to believe that retail video chains like Blockbuster will be in the headlights of watchdog groups like the FTC to make sure movies like "Hostel" and "The Devil's Rejects" do not get into the hands of 12-year-olds.

Hopefully, a massacre like Virginia Tech will never happen again, and R-rated movies should be given the freedom to grow as a genre so movies like "The 300" can be made for the vast movie-going audience's never ending appetite for extreme, well made action.

Those of you who think you might be interested in this game...just get it already! I had so much fun with this collection of games, each with their own style and quirks, each legitimately fun to play irrespective of any nostalgia. I chose this over the FC Twin because I heard better reports about its compatibility with several games that I have. It seems to be true; the only game I've had any trouble with was duck hunt, since this console only has connections for SNES controls. The compatibility is great, and I haven't had any trouble with SNES/SFC games (yep, it's compatible with American, Japanese, and reportedly European games!). Every NES game I've tried has run, but that's where I get into some nitpicky bits. Double Dragon 2 had some issues with the status info on the bottom of the page "scrolling" along when I went forward in the level. I think that was just a problem with the cartridge being dirty though. Also, on NES games, the sound leaves something to be desired. The volume is uneven, and it's "scratchy"-sounding. Compared to the actual NES I have, you definitely lose something. Also, the game slots were rather "snug" when I started using the console. I had to brace it against the floor with one hand while pulling on the game with the other. When the game popped out, I saw that several of the connector pins in the console had gotten bent, and had to bend them back into place (with a small screwdriver). So, I guess that while my experience wasn't perfect, I'm happy with my purchase. It lets me get back into my retro gaming awesomeness! I think it's worth it, despite minor problems.
